ORCHESTRE MÉTROPOLITAIN RISES YOUTH TO HONOR!

Montreal, Wednesday, February 2, 2012 —The Orchestre Métropolitain, as part of MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE and in collaboration with the Canadian Music Competition, will present in February a well-refreshing program: a concert for youngsters performed by youngsters! Youth Spirit concert, which will take place Friday, February 17 at 9:30 a.m. at Maison symphonique de Montréal, will also be presented in Montreal boroughs.

Youth Spirit

Created for the 30th season of the Orchestre Métropolitain, the Extra concert series—Youth Spirit aims to showcase young musicians of great talent. Stars soloists of tomorrow, they are between 10 and 30 years old and offer unforgettable performances, exciting, dazzling... How inspiring it is to hear this rising generation at work at the heart of the Maison symphonique de Montréal, surrounded by the musicians of the Orchestre Métropolitain and led by young conductor Daniel Myssyk! A not-to-be-missed!

The Orchestre Métropolitain and the Conseil des Arts de Montréal will present the Youth Spirit concert in three Montreal boroughs:

  • Friday, February 10, 2012, at 8 p.m. in Pointe-Claire (Saint-Joachim Church)
  • Friday, February 17, 2012, at 8 p.m. in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve (Maison de la culture Frontenac)
  • Sunday, February 19, 2012, at 2 p.m. in Saint-Laurent (Saint-Sixte Church)
