ParticipantsOrchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal Programme
DescriptionThe Symphony No. 8 is the last completed, monumental work in the symphonic genre by the “minstrel of God,” Anton Bruckner. It is also one of the grand summits of the entire symphonic literature. The composer recalls, in this work, the struggle that must occur for the artist to accomplish, according to Christian spirituality, his essential mission: to reveal Divine Truth. To build his cathedral of sound, Bruckner calls on impressive orchestral forces that include the famous Wagnerian tubas. A spiritual experience not to be missed! |
