Last year, I was thrilled to discover our splendid new Maison symphonique de Montréal. The Orchestre Métropolitain musicians were also eager to make the new concert hall resonate with their passion for music.

This is what drives the musicians of the Orchestre Métropolitain. It is also what makes us travel across town to play for you in your neighbourhood. The Conseil des arts de Montréal has made that possible, and we are excited to celebrate a milestone anniversary with them this season, marking 25 wonderful years of partnership.

If there is one thing we can cherish and be really proud of, it is our unique connection with the audience, and that is the very essence and substance of the Orchestre Métropolitain. Each year, we develop and expand youth projects, stimulate youthful audiences, and encourage budding musicians from whom we can legitimately expect wonders. And in 2012/2013, you will hear us perform for the first time two new works by our young Composer-in-Residence, Éric Champagne.

Passion, quality, and proximity: these words sum up a concert experience with the Orchestre Métropolitain.

For the 2012/2013 season, may we all share the excitement of musical discovery, creativity, vitality, excellence and cooperation, which are the guarantees for success.

Have a great season!
