Canadian soprano Gianna Corbisiero receives great recognition for the beautiful colours of her voice but also for her stage presence. After studies at McGill University, she became a member of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal. Since then, she has appeared as Papagena in Die Zauberflöte at the Vancouver Opera, Micaëla in Carmen at The Banff Centre for the Arts, Princess Laoula in L’Étoile at Opera Zuid in the Netherlands, the Maidservant in Elektra with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and Olga in La Veuve joyeuse at L’Opéra de Montréal. Last season she sang a brilliant and passionate Musetta in L’Opéra de Montréal’s production of La Bohème and will again sing the same opera, but as Mimi, with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra in 2005-2006.
